Living the Cream Malty Salty
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
Malty Salty is labeled as "Malted brown sugar ice cream, salted caramel swirls, malted pretzel crunch, sea salt chocolate chip cookie dough".
The malted brown sugar cinnamon ice cream is a unique hybrid of multiple flavors. The cinnamon element in this just works. The ice cream is rich, bold, and packs a subtle cinnamon flavoring in the aftertaste. The brown sugar is a dominating forefront flavor with the cinnamon that trickles in the back end to round out the ice cream base. It is very well down and has subtle graham cracker elements to it.
The salty caramel swirls are rich, sweet, and thick. The luscious swirl is laced from top to bottom in almost every single spoonful. The malted pretzel crunch is similar to the graham crumble that seeps into the ice cream and has a nice crunch to it. The cookie dough follows the trend of the texture of the no bake cookies. Except the dough has the extra flavor from salt and the doughy undertone from the composure of the mix-in.
This was a great flavor. Really the sleeper of the flavors I picked up on my last pickup from Living The Cream. The base, mix-ins, and swirl all go hand in hand to truly come together for an enjoyable experience.
