Living the Cream Strawberry Buckeye Cake
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
Strawberry Buckeye Cake is labeled as "Strawberry cake batter ice cream, PB frosting swirls, callebaut milk chocolate stracciatella, and buckeye bars".
The Strawberry Cake Batter ice cream is an incredibly rich and luscious offering by Living The Cream. You get strong luscious vanilla and extra pureness of cake batter in each bite. Think about buttercream frosting folded into vanilla ice cream. It’s really smooth, really tasty, and avoids coming off as too sweet. The strawberry is present but not overbearing. It gives you the proper richness from fresh strawberries churned into a dense cake batter like frosting ice cream to make it a delicious ad and unique taste. While the density and flavor are an upgrade, this cake batter base is one of the finest I have scooped.
Living the Cream is not shy when it comes to pooling swirls from side to side and top to bottom. His peanut butter swirl is thick in nature with the right amount of salt in the aftertaste. If I were to nitpick the swirl I would like it a touch runnier and gooier. The Buckeye bar chunks give you a hybrid peanut butter and chocolate combo that is fantastic. The bars are chewy, moist, and rich, and pack a luscious salty peanut butter flavor to create a true buckeye experience in each bite. Lastly the milk chocolate stracciatella is a thick shard of chocolate scattered throughout the ice cream. Not only does this amplify the brownie batter base, but helps bring up the buckeye bar chocolate density provided in this flavor.
This flavor is Brownie Buckeye Blizzard with the strawberry base. Personally I like the chocolate base over strawberry, but these elements work very well. All in all a great flavor for those who enjoy the fruity strawberry base.
