Living the Cream Buckeye Pretzel Guy
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
Buckeye Pretzel Guy is labeled as "Pretzel Ice Cream, Buckeye Bars, Oreo Cookies Swirls, PB Oreo Gooey Butter Cake".
The first bite of the pretzel-infused base is spectacular. The base is very smooth, and creamy, and has a mild salty flavor to it. There is a small hint of the vanilla-infused base with the dominant pretzel aftertaste. While this is not a flavor you typically see being made in the ice cream industry it leaves the door open for countless possibilities with mix-ins and additions to enhance the saltiness and flavor of an ice cream base.
The Buckeye bars are a peanut butter and chocolate match made in heaven. The thick bars have a melt-in-your-mouth texture and deliver the perfect salt compliment to drive home a perfect peanut butter chocolate mix-in. The Oreo cookie swirls are massive in size, pooling from side to side, and have a very soft and gooey texture. The flavor of the swirl is like a mashed cream and cookie from an Oreo congealed into a liquid. I don't know how Living The Cream Did it but it's awesome. Lastly, the PB Oreo Gooey Butter Cake is very soft, moist, and chewy but contains the Oreo and peanut butter flavors that mix extremely well together like a PB Oreo.
Oreos, pretzels, Buckeyes, Chocolate, Peanut Butter. All the things that basic B's like myself (Basic Bob) truly love congealed into a pint. With a touch more salt this would help the flavors pop, but overall a fantastic offering.
