Living the Cream Holiday Buzz
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
Holiday Buzz is labeled as "Mexican Hot Chocolate ice cream, dark chocolate espresso beans, and lightly spiced cinnamon yogurt pretzels".
The Mexican hot chocolate ice cream is similar to a milk chocolate Hershey bar, but with a twist of cinnamon on the backend. The duo of flavors amplifies the dense and premium base to give the flavor extra flair to your taste buds. I am a huge cinnamon and chocolate combo fan, and this one really has a happy medium of both flavors. Neither one overpowers the other with a perfect balance.
The dark chocolate-covered espresso beans are not a common mix-in for the ice cream game. While I love coffee, the bitterness from the dark chocolate coating is brilliant. The espresso provides the correct bitter to a sweet ratio like you would expect drinking the beverage. The cinnamon yogurt pretzels have the correct amount of saltiness and melt in your mouth. The yogurt covering is just enough to prevent them from going stale in the ice cream and enhancing the Mexican aspect of the base ie cream.
You have to be a cinnamon and chocolate fan to truly dig this one. For some people, it is a hit, and for some people, they don't care for it too much. None the less I am a huge coated pretzel fan and the extra saltiness with the espresso beans is a hit for me. Simple yet well-executed.
