Living the Cream Tuxedo Brownie
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
Tuxedo Brownie is labeled as "White Chocolate Ice Cream, Guittard chocolate extra dark stracciatella, and dark chocolate half-baked brownies."
The white chocolate ice cream is bold and rich in flavor. The white chocolate brings a strong aspect that surpasses what you would find in a normal grocery pint. The density of the vanilla in this flavor gives a rich luscious aftertaste. Living The Cream did a great job masking any dullness associated with a base flavor truly shine. Many make a white chocolate flavor like bland vanilla. This has the extra oomph of flavor to help the mix-ins shine.
The half-baked brownies are reminiscent of undercooked brownies that have an incredibly squishy and gooey center. This is my preference for brownies instead of the crispy outer edges. The Guittard extra dark stracciatella is a very bold, extra intense form of chocolate with subtle notes of vanilla. This mix in streaks small slivers around the pint and is packed with slivers or chunks of chocolate.
Overall this is a pretty monotonous pint, but the first one Living The Cream has ever made with white chocolate. While this can get a bit boring after you get halfway through the experience. The execution is right, but it needs more elements for it to shine.
