Living the Cream 24 Carrots
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
24 Carrots is labeled as "Carrot Cake Oreo ice cream, carrot cake cream cheese swirl bars, and marshmallow buttercream frosting swirls."
The carrot cake oreo ice cream is very unique. The sheer density of Living The Cream's base truly shines in each and every bite. What you get is a warm mixture of clove, cinnamon, and brown sugar spices with a subtle carrot flavor. The kicker is an oreo backend flavor. Now if you ever had the Carrot Cake Oreos that debuted in 2019 you get a perfect glimpse of this in each and every bite.
The marshmallow swirls are extremely thick, luscious, and have a blistering rich flavor. It was a smart move to do marshmallows as a swirl because mini marshmallows can become rock hard when frozen in ice cream. The carrot cake cream cheese swirl bars are similar to the frosted carrot cake you would get at a bakery. These small chunks are scattered throughout the pint and are extremely moist, fresh, and chewy.
Living The Cream left out the candied nuts in my pint because I am not a huge fan of nuts in ice cream. Even without them, this is very good. A lot of companies fall short on the execution of flavor and consistency of mix-ins, but this was solid. I would like to see the spices enhanced in the base ice cream to really make it pop. The nutmeg, clove, and brown sugar spices are present but linger in the backend.
