Living the Cream PB & J
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
Living the Cream PB & J is labeled as "Agave roasted strawberry ice cream, peanut butter swirls, salted peanut butter cookie dough, and nutter butter cookies."
The richness and ripeness of the agave roasted strawberry are present from the very first bite. The ripe base provides a sweet flavoring that remains mild and mellow as the ice cream tempers. The downside to this strawberry ice cream doesn’t pack a punch, it lacks the density needed to truly give you a great base ice cream experience. Fruity flavors are very hard to execute but Living the Cream did a good job, but have room for improvement.
Nutter Butters are classic peanut butter-filled cookies. The outer shell provides a nice crunch and a dense, creamy, and smooth peanut butter center. This plays right in hand with the large peanut butter swirl. Living the Cream is not shy when it comes to pooling swirls from side to side and top to bottom. His peanut butter swirl is thick in nature with the right amount of salt in the aftertaste. The salted peanut butter cookie dough chunks are soft, chewy, and provide a decadent mix-in. The salt needs to be stronger, but the peanut butter flavor is not shy on these cookie dough chunks.
Overall I am not one for fruity-based ice creams, but when you throw in a ton of peanut butter-based mix-ins count me in. The base needs a touch-up, but other than that the rest of the pint was on point. Salty, loads of peanut butter, and a plentiful amount of mix-ins
