Little G's Ice Cream Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
Little G's Ice Cream Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup is labeled as "chocolate ice cream + peanut butter caramel swirl + peanut butter cups". I had this right when it was debuted off the first ever OG Pack from Grace. The only downside was the swirl was not very present in the pint. Therefore she went back and re-did this flavor to improve it. Her biggest change? Make the swirl more noticeable. Lets see just how much better this pint turned out to be.
I have had some incredible chocolate bases over the years (Jeni's and Salt & Straw come to mind as my top 2) and this is good but does not take the throne. Jeni's before the listeria craze was hands down the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) with how dense, premium, and bold their chocolate flavor was. What I like about Little G's is that is has a 60/40 mix of dark and milk chocolate combined together. You really get the best of both worlds. Base alone this was good, a step up from a typical Ben & Jerry's or mainstream pint you would buy at the grocery store.
The Peanut Butter Caramel Swirl in Little G's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup is now glorious. I thought my cowboy cookie and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel swirls were massive, this may take the cake. The peanut butter aspect is basically eating a jar of fresh peanut butter. The kicker here is the aftertaste of caramel. Combine the sweetness and luscious thick filling of caramel on top of peanut butter and it is genius. The peanut butter cups were chunked up from top to bottom and in every single bite. You do not go a spoonful without a swirl or peanut butter cups. Literally this flavor is all mix-ins and swirls, and the chocolate ice cream is basically there to help give you the balance of flavoring.
In 2016 I gave this a B Score, but if you know Little G's she does swirls right. Not to mention she does not shortchange you when it comes to mix-ins. Anyone who loves chocolate and peanut butter this has to be a huge priority on your list. It comes and goes on the lineup, but if you see it pick it up with ease. This is a much better scoop then the OG version, and man that swirl was marvelous! I would have to say this moved right up towards my top 5 pints ever off her line with the changes.
