Clementines Tommy's Toffee Butter Brickle
Clementines Tommy's Toffee Butter Brickle is labeled as "Our own handmade toffee ice cream blended with Bissinger's English toffee bits. A sweet taste of English tradition." This was a flavor made after the owners Brother. Mom's homemade recipe that was stored in the freezer and Tommy would eat it all without sharing. Because of how popular it was, the owner of Clementine's decided to replicate Ma's old recipe and make it a signature flavor.
With my first scoop ever from Clementines I was blown away. Not only is the density, creaminess, and quality of the ice cream mind blowing it packs incredible flavor. The consistency almost reminded me of custard with how thick it was. The flavor you got from the toffee was so pure of brown sugar and butter that is was melting on my mouth with each and every spoonful. Hints of butterscotch and caramel are washed down in the aftertaste, but you really get every single element of a true toffee flavor in this base. Man, this was serious and absolutely incredible just on its own.
The English Toffee Bits look like a large shattered toffee piece. They are extremely crunchy, have a lot of flavor, and pack a bite! English toffee, which is a very buttery toffee often made with almonds. The second you take the first bite of the mix-ins you can taste the crunch and almond aftertaste. The mix-ins provide the crunchy element to give it a creamy and crunchy one two combo. Due to being made in house and 100% natural the amount of flavor is surpassing of anything I have tried before.
For my first experience with Clementines it was good. What I did enjoy was how strong the flavor of the base was, and how dense the ice cream is. I am a huge custard fan, and this stuff resembled that with how bold the toffee elements come out in each and every bite. The toffee pieces were scattered all over the top of the pint, but after breaching the surface they did become scarce. That was my biggest downfall of the pint. It got to the point half way through where there was nothing but base left in the end. The consistency of the mix-ins was a bit of a letdown, but a good first experience.
