Little G's Ice Cream Movie Night
Little G's Ice Cream Movie Night is labeled as "Buttered Popcorn ice cream with a mixture of the best chocolate, peanut butter, nougat, and caramel candies". If anyone has ever had Ample Hills version of "A Night At The movies" this is a very similar spin off. Ample Hills decided to include Whoppers, M&Ms and SnoCaps. I like Grace's lineup of candy over Ample Hills. Ample Hills missed bigtime on the base, so that is one thing I am taking note on during my experience.
The buttered popcorn ice cream just seems to be lacking that butter presence. While this is better then the Ample Hill's base it could have a stronger. It reminded me of the vanilla bean with a subtle butter flavor to it. Since there is more presence to what Ample Hills made I give Little G's the upper hand. I think the reason she decided to keep to a mere butter aftertaste flavor is it may turn people away, and this would help compliment the mix-ins better.
Speaking of those mix-ins there is no such thing as lacking when it comes to Little G's. Just pop the lid and witness the multi colored amount of mix-ins provided in this pint. In each and every bite from top to bottom you do not miss a mix-in. I found that the chocolate and nougat were the leading contenders in this pint. I got hints of peanut butter and caramel candies that reminded me of mini milky ways. The amount of flavors really takes over and overpowers the base. For those who love mix-ins you are really in for a treat here!
Overall this is a good flavor, but I do have a couple things I need to point out. First of all the base melts fast just like my experience with Snack Attack. I eat my pints pulled right out of the freezer and in 10 minutes this was almost turning to soup. The buttered popcorn could use an upgrade in butter flavor, but the subtle flavor may suit people who do not want it to become too strong. The candy was great, there is nothing I would take away from it but besides more peanut butter since I am a PB Fiend.
