Little G's Ice Cream Going To The Circus
Little G's Ice Cream Going To The Circus is labeled as "Animal Cracker Ice Cream with frosted animal cracker pieces, buttercream frosting and sprinkles"
Seeing the name Animal Cracker ice cream I really had no idea what to expect. The real difference was the amount of sweetness it has over the bolder vanilla base offered in vanilla bean. While I personally like this, for some people who do not enjoy sweet ice cream it may turn them away. I am all for it and found it an upgrade over the vanilla bean.
The sprinkles are found in copious amounts. Every single spoonful will have at least a half dozen sprinkles. While they do not offer much flavor to the pint besides a crunch, it is a good pair with the animal cracker cookies. Frosted animal crackers are a favorite of mine growing up and they were perfect. Huge in size, crunch in texture, and had that sweet frosting. Because these were so large you did not get a lot of them, but when you struck them you could not miss them. The buttercream frosting to me blended right into the base. This was a feature that helped give the extra sweetness that took this base a step above vanilla bean.
I struck this pint first because a lot of reviews said this one was a flavor they would omit if they were to reorder the flavors before they are gone in February. Just like my experience with Holiday Sugar Cookie I personally liked this one more then expected. The base had a perfect amount of sweetness to compliment the animal crackers and sprinkles. The extra touch of buttercream just gave the overall experience what it needed to mesh to replicate a childhood favorite snack in ice cream form.
