Little G's Chocolate Milk & Cookies
Little G's Chocolate Milk & Cookies is labeled as "Chocolate ice cream & chocolate chip cookie dough chunks & Chocolate Sandwich Cookies." After having Chocolate Peanut butter cup the chocolate base was something I already knew what was coming. After just having Triple cookie dough and having a great experience with the cookie dough this should be another star on the original lineup. Lets not forget my experience with Coffee Cookies & Cream. This should be the shining star if she can really nail all three elements especially those mix-ins.
After having Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and now having this my thoughts have not altered on the chocolate base from Little G's. I have had some incredible chocolate bases over the years (Jeni's and Salt & Straw come to mind as my top 2) and this is good but does not take the throne. Jeni's before the listeria craze was hands down the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) with how dense, premium, and bold their chocolate flavor was. What I like about Little G's is that is has a 60/40 mix of dark and milk chocolate combined together. You really get the best of both worlds. Base alone this was good, a step up from a typical Ben & Jerry's or mainstream pint you would buy at the grocery store. The density and creaminess is very nice, which I know is enhanced due to the massive amount of mix-ins.
Both mix-ins have been seen before in Coffee Cookies & Cream, and Triple Cookie Dough. The spin-off here is throwing them in a chocolate base. Now the chocolate sandwich cookies are hands down my favorite mix-in from Grace. The cookies have the right crunch to them, and also the cream filling of an oreo which gives the sweet cream aftertaste to a bold chocolate base. Combine the chocolate from the shell of the cookies and the sweet cream really sticks out like a semi-swirl due to the amount you get in each and every bite. The cookie dough chunks are simply that chunks. While the cookies are everywhere you get the chewiness aspect of the cookie dough. Crunchy, chewy, dense and premium ice cream this is a fantastic combination which has consistent mix-ins from top to bottom all the way to the surface of the pint.
While I thought Triple cookie dough was killer this has to take the crown. While the base can be better to match some of the other premium offerings on the market its hard to truly gauge with the amount of inclusions in the ice cream. When your spoon is 90% cookie dough and cookies its hard to really tell you exactly how good the ice cream is by itself. There is nothing bad to say about the cookie dough or sandwich cookies. Both of those mix-ins are the signature mix-ins offered by Little G's in my opinion. Take two incredible mix-ins and pair them with a chocolate base that compliments what your eating and its delicious!
From the OG Line my rankings:
1. Chocolate Milk & Cookies
2. Coffee Cookies & Cream
3. Peanut Butter Brittle & Salted Fudge
4. Triple Cookie Dough
5. Fudge Brownie
6. Snack Attack
7. Coffee Toffee Caramel
8. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
Grade: A+
