Little G's Peanut Butter Brittle & Salted Fudge
Little G's Peanut Butter Brittle & Salted Fudge is labeled as "Vanilla Bean ice cream & peanut butter brittle pieces & salted chocolate fudge chunks" Similar to Almond Brittle & Salted Ganache from Salt & Straw but with peanut butter brittle pieces. I personally have enjoyed my first two flavors from Little G"s, and continue to see how the rest of the original flavors stack up against the others. While this was one of my favorite S&S Flavors I have a good feeling I will personally enjoy this one.
The vanilla bean ice cream is exactly like Snack Attack. The base is not super sweet or luscious like a Graeter's ice cream, but has a dense vanilla flavor. For those who like a strong vanilla and not sweet this is right up your alley. What I did really enjoy in this pint is because of the mix-ins offered the base almost had a 50/50 mix of peanut butter to vanilla ratio. It almost got to the point where the peanut butter was an aftertaste to the strong vanilla base. How Grace (The owner of Little G's) pulled this off was unique. It not only made the base an upgrade, but made my rating on this pint upgrade. While I have a vicious sweet tooth, a strong and bold vanilla paired very well with the mix-ins that were offered in this pint.
When I breached the surface I soon found out this pint was going to be one of my favorites as I expected. The salted chocolate fudge chunks are decadent. The Semi-sweet chocolate has that perfect amount of salt combined to give you the best of both worlds. Not only are these pieces massive they are loaded from top to bottom. The peanut butter brittle pieces I was expecting to be pretty hard in texture, but that was not the case. They do offer a nice crunch and have a bite to them, but the smooth peanut butter flavor has a rich salty aftertaste just like the fudge chunks. With how good that bold vanilla bean base is, the saltiness of the mix-ins helps enhance the flavoring of this pint to give it a semi-peanut butter flavor to the base.
After cracking through a few pints of Little G's this pint held up much longer then the others and did not temper as fast which was a nice bonus. The base is similar to snack attack, but I got a slight hint of peanut butter coming through in the aftertaste. The star of the show was the size and flavor of the salted chocolate fudge chunks. Not only are they packed with chocolate flavor, the saltiness aftertaste is on point. Combine delicious chocolate with peanut brittle and you got a killer combination. So far this is my favorite flavor off the line after cracking through 3 pints.
