New Orleans Ice Cream Co. Creole Cream Cheese
With only a few pints left in my massive stash of New Orleans Ice Cream Company I am saving one of the best reviewed for last. Creole Cream Cheese is labeled as one of the top sellers from the brand. According to their owner, Adrian, this is their most popular flavor. Creole Cream Cheese is described as "A Local Delicacy, Fresh Farmers Style Cream Cheese Gently Blended Into Our Delicious Ice Cream".
There is not a lot to describe in this pint besides the base being offered. Usually I am a bit turned down by this because I am a mix-in junkie, but lets see if NO can make a miracle out of a mix-in maniac! Upon popping the lid you are presented with a very fine and dense looking cream cheese/vanilla base. Upon first bite I was blown away by how bold the flavoring was in this pint. Right away you get the initial cream cheese flavoring like you are eating a NY Style Cheesecake. Then you are presented with a small luscious aftertaste that reminded me of Graeter's Vanilla base.
Even with no mix-ins to rave over the base alone in this pint provides a reason to pick up New Orleans most popular flavor. Right away if you are a cream cheese or cheesecake fan this will be worth a scoop. Think about eating the center of a NY Style cheesecake without the crust, and then you get a semi-sweet sugar aftertaste of a delicious vanilla flavored ice cream. Put two and two together and you are presented with NO Creole Cream Cheese. Cream Cheese in an ice cream base done to perfection. While I did not have high hopes before scooping this, Adrian the owner, proved me wrong and presented me with a choice I would recommend.
