Dairy Queen Jurassic Smash Blizzard
Dairy Queen's Jurassic Smash blizzard, formerly the peanut butter cookie dough smash blizzard, features "Peanut Butter Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter, and chocolate chunks blended with creamy vanilla soft serve." On the verge of the new Jurassic World movie I figured this would be worth a scoop being a major PB and Cookie Dough fan. Would this exceed my favorite blizzard "S'mores" That DQ let out last year? We will soon find out!
Upon first bite I barley even notice the vanilla soft serve base. With the combination of everything this blizzard contains it tastes like a nutter butter cookie. If you are unfamiliar with a nutter butter cookie it is " peanut-shaped sandwich cookie with a peanut butter filling". The amount of peanut butter in this blizzard is strong, and with that it makes me very satisfied being a Peanut butter lover.
Onto the mix-ins in this blizzard. Since there are so many you get a mouthful in almost every single bite. The Peanut Butter cookies provide a nice dense crunch with mild peanut butter flavor. The Chocolate Chip Cookie dough are small little balls that are popular at Fro-Yo Bars you can add to your own creation. Small in size, and soft in texture that add a great compliment to Peanut butter like found in Peanut Butter Half Baked & The tonight dough from Ben & Jerry's. The Chocolate Chunks or small chips (after blended by the blizzard machine) add a small hint of chocolate in every single bite.
Overall if you are a peanut butter fan this is a must try. While there is a large amount off mix-ins you are overwhelmed with a strong peanut butter base similar to a nutter butter cookie. The Vanilla soft serve does not even seem present by the amount of peanut butter cookies and peanut butter added into the blizzard. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls provides a nice compliment and the chocolate chunks are in every single spoonful. While I still grade S'mores the best blizzard on the line this is not far behind.
