Coldstone PB&Just Delicious Creation
Coldstone has recently released a new base and creation for the summer month labeled "PB & Just Delicious Creation" This is a new Peanut Butter and Jelly Base with additional Peanut Butter, Jelly, and Graham Cracker Pie Crust. After mixing up the peanut butter and jelly in the base it basically makes those massive globs they use as mix-ins to swirls which make this a killer PB & J Creation. If you have ever had Ben & Jerry's PB Jam Session or Wegmans PB & Jelly these wold be very similar ice cream's that you could compare to this. In the end I will do the same and rank my top 3 based off what I feel is the best!
As stated Coldstone has released a new Creation which is labeled "Peanut Butter and Jelly Ice Cream, Peanut Butter, Jelly, and Graham Cracker Pie Crust". Anyone who is a Peanut Butter and Jelly fan this is your dream come true. After popping the top to the pint the workers made for me there was a massive glob of jelly that probably did not get mixed in very well. I also stated small flecks of Graham Cracker Pie Crust, and also small little pieces of peanut butter (since they scoop it from a jar).
After digging into my first bite the first thing I noticed was a very strong jelly flavoring (similar to PB Jam Session) with a small peanut butter after taste. After taking a few more bites I would have to state the regular PB Base at coldstone is much stronger than the mixture of PB&J which has a 60/40 Jelly to Peanut Butter flavoring. The peanut butter is holds a dense and rich flavor, but the Jelly/Jam is what holds the stronger of the two for the dominant base. The Graham Cracker pie crust pieces add a nice little crunch as you continue to take a few bites, but the ladies who made my Pint must of put extra jelly because I was running into swirls and globs of jelly throughout my experience.
Overall this is a good pickup for a limited edition flavor if you are a die-hard Peanut Butter and Jelly lover or have a massive craving. The base is good, but as stated the Jelly overpowers the peanut butter alone (I sampled before I got my pint to give it a fair test before the mix-ins were added). The additional peanut butter and Jelly basically turn into swirls once the workers mix everything together with the PB & J Base which is a great compliment similar to PB Jam Session and Wegmans PB & J. The Graham Cracker Pie Crust is what really aids this creation giving it a nice crunch and after taste which goes very well with the PB & J. Between B&J and Wegmans i would place this one second on my list of favorites. Ben & Jerry's I found to be very similar besides a straight PB Base with similar Jelly swirl/flavoring, and Wegmans bringing home the #1 spot with not only a denser/richer Peanut Butter flavor in the base, but also stronger and sweeter Jelly Swirls. The Graham Cracker Pie Crust is what gives this the edge over Ben and Jerry's.
