Living the Cream Big Dog
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
Big Dog is labeled as "White chocolate ice cream, callebaut milk chocolate stracciatella, PB ooey gooey butter cake, nutter butter cookies."
The white chocolate ice cream is bold and rich in flavor. The white chocolate brings a strong aspect that surpasses what you would find in a normal grocery pint. The density of the vanilla in this flavor gives a rich luscious aftertaste. Living The Cream did a great job masking any dullness associated with a base flavor truly shine. Many make a white chocolate flavor like bland vanilla. This has the extra oomph of flavor to help the mix-ins shine.
The Callebaut milk chocolate stracciatella is broken-up chocolate shards that are laced throughout the pint. The quality of the chocolate really shines and provides a great compliment to the white chocolate base. The PB gooey butter cake is moist, dense, and packed with a luscious aftertaste. The texture of the mix-ins is incredibly soft and provides the perfect chewiness to white chocolate base. Lastly the nutter butter cookies are a staple addition for crunch and peanut butter. The peanut butter helps balance the chocolate additions in this ice cream with a fantastic base.
White chocolate, peanut butter, and chocolate are awesome. The gooey butter cake gives you a soft addition with the crunchy nutter butters give you the best of both worlds. White chocolate is a love-hate thing, but I am a fan. When you put this in conjunction it plays the right tune.
