Living the Cream PB&J Time
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
PB&J Time is labeled as "Vegan peanut butter ice cream, strawberry swirls, brown sugar graham cracker crumble, and peanut butter oatmeal cookie dough."
The vegan peanut butter ice cream is similar to real peanut butter out of a jar. When peanut butter meets high-quality ice cream you taste a high buttermilk fat content. The density is very thick as Living the Cream's bases are right up there like Salt & Straw, Caffe Panna, and Clementines. If I were to nitpick the base I would like a little bit more salt to really get this flavor to pop. Due to the fact this was vegan peanut butter, I did not expect it to taste as rich as a regular peanut butter base.
The PB cookie dough is delicious, soft, and flavorful cookie dough chunks. The peanut butter aspect helps play hand in hand with the base to amplify the overall experience of peanut butter to compliment the strawberry swirls. The strawberry swirls are gooey, thick, luscious, and rich in flavor. Fruit flavors can be a double edge sword and get icy when frozen, but the composure jam swirl is extremely pure. The brown sugar graham cracker crumble is buttery, crunchy, and distributed properly throughout the pint to give this an extra crunch.
For those who love PB&J sandwiches and really admire strawberry over grape you are in for a treat. I was always team strawberry so this brought me back to my childhood days but frozen into an ice cream pint.
