Living the Cream Chef Bob Reserve No. 1
Living the Cream is a small business out of Buffalo. The guy is churning up some masterpieces out of his own kitchen. I luckily found him off Instagram due to his love of eating America's finest ice cream. His homemade ice cream has a lot of praise due to the fact he makes everything from scratch.
Chef Bob Reserve No. 1 is labeled as " Vegan Peanut butter ice cream, nutella bars, chocolate covered potato chips, and an oreo marshmallow swirl."
The vegan peanut butter ice cream is similar to real peanut butter out of a jar. When peanut butter meets high-quality ice cream you taste a high buttermilk fat content. The density is very thick as Living the Cream's bases are right up there like Salt & Straw, Caffe Panna, and Clementines. If I were to nitpick the base I would like a little bit more salt to really get this flavor to pop. Due to the fact this was vegan peanut butter, I did not expect it to taste as rich as a regular peanut butter base.
The Nutella bars are huge chunks of fudgy, soft, and chewy bars. These are one of the best things Living The Cream has made with the sheer execution of the mix-in. The thick coatings of Nutella between each compliment make them shine.
The chocolate-covered potato chips have a perfect amount of salt within them to make the coated mix-in pop. Potato chips are tricky because they can get stale and lose flavor, hence why Living the Cream coated them to enhance the flavor and quality contorl. The oreo marshmallow swirl is an unrefined feature from Living the Cream, but as you know he is not shy with swirls. The oreo marshmallow swirls are extremely thick, luscious, and have a blistering oreo flavor that pairs well with the peanut butter base.
I may be biased since the flavor was made for me with some of my ideas, but Living the Cream pulled an audible on a caramel swirl and it really was the right choice. The oreo marshmallow goes well with the Nutella bars and potato chips as an extremely gooey compliment. The chewy bars and crisp potato chips all sync together to make one of Living the Cream's best flavors to date.
Grade: A+
