Little G's Cookie Butter Crunch
Little G's Cookie Butter Crunch is labeled as "Cookie Butter Ice Cream with cookie butter swirl, and mini chocolate chips, and crushed speculoos cookies." I think I can speak for every ice cream connoisseur out there that every company who makes a cookie butter ice cream has had a swing and a miss. There always seems to be a major component truly missing to signify the flavor and make it a top tier flavor. Lets see if Little G's can step up to the plate and be a front runner for a good Cookie butter Ice Cream.
Right off the bat the base is absolutely perfect. If you ever had cookie butter from Trader Joe's this is an exact replica but in ice cream. For those who love cookie butter they might die and go to heaven with how pure and luscious the flavoring is in each and every spoonful. I have to say this is the best cookie butter ice cream base that is offered on the ice cream market. If this does make a return there will be countless buyers just for the base alone. Well done here.
The cookie butter swirl is much smaller then many folks are use to who buy little G's. Normally you are engulfed with monstrous size spoonful's of swirls as you dig down a pint, but this seems to be small and subtle. It is nothing that is hidden by any means, but had potential to be larger like her salted caramel, marshmallow, and signature swirls show in her other pints. The speculoos cookie pieces are similar to the Trader Joe's ice cream which are very small but add a crunchy element to the base. If you took a gingersnap cookie and smashed it into pieces that would be the best way to describe the mix-in. Lastly the chocolate chips have been used in many of her previous pints (Go banana's, magic bar, and cowboy cookie), so these are very straight forward. Small little semi-sweet chocolate pieces that taste similar to the hershey bags you can buy in the grocery store you would use to make chocolate chip cookies. I personally enjoyed it paired with the cookie butter, as others did not care for them.
This is the sleeper pint in the pack. I thought it would be good, but with how Grace knocked that base out of the park it took this flavor to another level. I truly was amazed at how pure it resembled Trader Joe's cookie butter. The swirl and cookies both could of been larger, but with how well everything complimented each other this just flowed very well. I would highly suggest this flavor if it ever came back again.
