Little G's Chocolate Mint Cookie
Little G's Chocolate Mint Cookie is labeled as "Chocolate mint ice cream with fudge swirl and chocolate mint cookie pieces." Being someone who is not a big mint person I have my doubts when I buy things like this. After reading a few reviews and hearing from people I trust they said it was not very strong. When it comes to mint the other aspect has to be the dominant factor for me to enjoy it. Lets soon find out, but with there being a massive swirl in there that caught my eye.
Off the first bite the mint is stronger then I expected it to be. While the dominant flavor is chocolate it is around a 60/40 ratio of chocolate to mint. The extra bite of the mint is a perfect replica of a thin mint cookie. This was exactly what Grace was going for when she was duplicating this ice cream, so kudos to her on absolutely nailing that flavoring. The chocolate is dense and is much richer then your average milk chocolate. Picture a hershey chocolate bar and add an extra kick of flavor. It was strong, but most of all delicious.
The cookie pieces were small, almost like they were broken up throughout the entire experience. It was not like you are getting her stuffed cookie pieces in chocolate milk and cookies, or fluffer cookie. The cookies added a thick chewy factor to this pint, but the real X factor was the fudge swirl. Just like the coconut caramel pint this swirl is absolute fire. The dense fudge flavoring is out of this world, and packs so much flavor it will make your head spin. The sheer flavoring of chocolate in this pint will have chocolate lovers screaming at the top of their lungs. This is not a thin swirl you may find in your local grocery store pints, Grace makes sure you get full spoonfuls and it starts at the top and does not stop until your last bite.
If the mint flavoring was toned down a degree this would be a favorite flavor off the spring lineup. To me it was too strong and therefore I would have to downgrade it. While it does the perfect job of replicating a thin-mint they are not my favorite. Each element was created to perfection and this was an ideal replica of the girl scout cookie. Very well executed.
