"Cafe On A Stick" Ice Cream Bars
"Cafe On A Stick" Bars can be found at cafeonastick.com/
"Here at American Cold Brew we love Coffee AND we love Ice cream. So we decided to combine real Cool Brew coffee and Ultra-premium New Orleans Ice Cream to create Café Bars."
Things to note about these bars
- The ice cream used is fair trade ice cream meaning all natural.
- The Noir coffee espresso bar is made to replace a $3-4 coffee you would spend at a local mom and pop shop. Instead these will retail around $1.50 at gas stations and convenience stores.
- All the Ice Cream bars should be available in local grocery stores, convenience stores, and gas stations + on Ice Cream Source available for online shipping.
Flavors Include:
🍦Noir - "A sweet black coffee espresso blend for the seasoned coffee drinker who loves the strong bold taste of coffee. Made with Fair Trade cold-brewed premium coffee."
This bar is basically essentially frozen espresso coffee. Right off the bat you get the bold taste of fresh cold-brewed coffee. For those who love the cold brew beverage you are taking your favorite morning get me up and turning it into a dessert. The overall taste is good to replicate a cold brew coffee that you would get at a local starbucks or mom and pop shop. With having it frozen it threw me off at first. These will be around $1.50 a bar. For those who spend $3-4 on a coffee and want a dessert this is much more cost effective. Very neat concept.
🍡Mocha - "Our rich, chocolatey cold-brew coffee encases our ultra-premium chocolate ice cream. Perfect for chocolate lovers that need a nice cold refreshment to energize their day."
This was my favorite bar of the bunch. The Cold brew encased ice cream is the same in almost all the bars. You get a very rich new orleans cold brew flavor. The light roasted coffee hits your tastebuds almost instantly and provides a long lasting delicious flavor that pairs with the ice cream. The Chocolate ice cream was a pure milk chocolate and for chocolate lovers will rattle their tastebuds. Very smooth, rich, and dense in flavor that paired perfectly with the chocolate.
🌰Hazelnut - "The sweet, cold-brewed hazelnut coffee outter shell with a creamy vanilla center. Made with real hazelnut coffee and sweetened with ultra-premium vanilla ice cream."
The only difference in this outer shell compared to the mocha is a slight hazelnut aftertaste. Imagine putting hazelnut syrup into your cold brew, that is exactly how this does taste on the outershell. The vanilla center was good, but not as good as the chocolate. The vanilla provides a sweet aftertaste, but does not have a very strong initial flavoring. My bar also provided a very icy aftertaste which took away from the overall experience of the vanilla.
🍯Au Lait - "A creamy blend of fresh, cold-brewed cafe au lait outter shell sweetened with a rich vanilla center. For coffee drinkers that prefer a lot of milk and some sugar in their coffee."
My favorite coffee based outer shell was the Au Lait. If you ever had the New Orleans Au Lait ice cream base you know exactly what you are getting yourself into. To this day that is one of my favorite coffee based ice creams and this flavored shined in the coffee layering. The pure coffee flavor really entices coffee fans to dig into this bar and has a luscious aftertaste which compliments the vanilla center. This really helps bring out the vanilla ice cream and upgrade the overall bar in terms of flavor. This was a good bar, but again the vanilla was icy which took away some points.
🍫Caramel "One of our favorites, this ultra-premium caramel coffee ice cream has all of the tasty caramel flavor that you'd expect with the caffeine that you need to get through a long day."
The Caramel was my least favorite of all the bars. While it was still noticeable in the bars, the new orleans coffee is dominant in flavor. The caramel plays as an undertone in the flavoring and a mere aftertaste. The caramel ice cream was good, but nothing that I would rave over. If I had to put the 3 bases of ice cream caramel would come last. It just seemed dull compared to how rich the chocolate was, and how the vanilla had a sugary aftertaste which gave it a nice vibe to the coffee outer shell. I think this needs some extra richness to really make the caramel stand out.
