Graeter's Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip
Graeter's Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip is a simple combination of two famous complimentary flavors: rich, milk chocolate chips nestled in creamy peanut butter ice cream. If you are familiar with Graeter's you know they do not skimp you when it comes to mix-ins! The size of the mix-ins when graeter's blends them with their delicious and dense bases provide for an epic one-two punch! Some of my recent encounters in the scoop shops, or in a regular pint have left me with 1/2" thick chocolate chip pieces or brownie pieces that pack a great compliment. After having Buckeye Blitz which is pretty similar to this with a small twist I have high hopes!
Upon lifting the lid you see Graeter's provides you with a light looking peanut butter base and massive chocolate chip placed right in the center of the pint. Graeter's if you have never had it before offers a very dense flavor regardless of the base. Black Raspberry is unique but amazing, Cookies and Cream is like drinking oreo's in milk, and this peanut butter base has nothing to hide! Even at 310 calories per serving you are first touched with a long lasting peanut butter flavor, and thick chocolate chip pieces right from the get go. While some companies (Ben & Jerry's for example) add a bit of saltiness to their peanut butter base, Graeter's stick to the bold, creamy taste of peanut butter from first to last bite. The richness in the peanut butter is perfect and provides a great two-sided combo when paired with chocolate chips.
If you are a peanut butter lover look no further. You need to get out and get your hands on this. A dense, bold, and rich peanut butter base paired with thick chocolate chip pieces combine to form a Graeter's classic. Even if there was no mix-ins this pint would deliver just off the base alone. Add in massive, thick, and broken chunks of chocolate chip pieces and you have a great combo. The overall texture is superb as they are not rock hard, but have a nice out of the wrapper chocolate chip density that melts in your mouth. The hershey milk chocolate taste combined with peanut butter is a chocolate peanut butter combo that leaves you lingering for another bite. Even with the heavy caloric count per serving, it is worth every single calorie for how great the ice cream tastes. On sale for 3$ a pint, I could not pass this up, nor could i give this a bad grade.
