Caffe Panna Carrot Cake

CaffePanna uses a magnificent, wintry blend of warm spice and sweet sugar on this flavor. What’s amazing is how full-bodied the ginger is throughout the base. Maybe it’s the immersion of real ginger spices that lend it by proximity, but wow this was absolutely nailed. With each bite ginger, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon are sweetened with sugary molasses on the backend.
The carrot cake is moist, dense, and chewy in texture. You can tell Caffe Panna bakes this in house and folds it into the ice cream in thick chunks. While I only had a few pieces throughout the experience they were fantastic. The big let down was the cream cheese swirl, which resembled a small sliver. I could not pick up much tang from this inclusion. I only got a few bites throughout the entire experience. Carrot Cake needs to have a thick coating of cream cheese to bring the boom, but unfortunately, I got only a hint.
I may have had an off pint here, but I will say the gingerbread base and carrot cake addition was superb. With a larger complementing swirl this would have had potential. You win some and you lose some when it comes to quality control in the ice cream game. I know that if you strike gold this one will be the next level.
