Caffe Panna It's Fall
CaffePanna's goal is to bring that same welcoming spirit and all-day accessibility to the heart of New York City, with an emphasis on delicious ice cream that marries elements of both Italian and American traditions.
Its Fall is labeled as "Cinnamon ice cream, cinnamon snickerdoodle crunch coated dough, and fresh ginger caramel"
The Cinnamon base is exactly what you would expect from Caffe Panna. The sheer density and creaminess of this ice cream I can not rave enough about. With its texture similar to custard the flavoring of the cinnamon surpasses any brand I have scooped on the market. The cinnamon is very rich, thick cinnamon sugar, and pure that it leaves you digging for seconds. The cinnamon is not very heavy, but strong enough to make its presence felt.
The ginger caramel swirl is locked and loaded. From top to bottom this is pooled all over the place in globs. The luscious caramel is thick and provides a syrupy liqueur backend taste. The amount of sweetness provided by the ginger enhances the pint with a hybrid earthly inclusion. While I did not pick a lot of lemon or citrus from the ginger the musty enhancement was distinctive. The cinnamon snickerdoodle crunch coated dough was one of those things you wish never ended. The thick chunks of dough are soft, chewy, and moist. The kicker is the texture of cinnamon snickerdoodle coating that blasts your taste buds with sweet cinnamon sugar. The one-two combo of the swirl and mix-ins magnify the luscious backend flavor.
If Caffe Panna did not trademark the Ranger chunks, next up should be the Cinnamon snickerdoodle crunch cookie dough. Hands down one of their best mix-ins to date with such a demanding swirl that laid the foundation for a great scoop.
