Ben & Jerry's Netflix and Chilll'd
Ben & Jerry's Netflix and Chill'd is a "Peanut Butter ice cream with sweet and salty pretzel swirls and fudge brownies". This is a new flavor that debuted in New York City just after the turn of 2020. This first hit the shores of Australia and is now making its way through America to grocery stores. Ben & Jerry's has been on a hot streak to start the year with re-releasing a lot of fan-favorite flavors and expanding their dough chunk line.
The peanut butter base is dense, creamy, and very good quality. It does have an authentic peanut butter flavor with a nice amount of salt. This seems to be an upgrade on the past as it used to be mild. What I appreciate the most is how well rounded the flavor is like you were to scoop it out of a jar. On its own, the peanut butter flavor truly shines instead of in conjunction with another flavor as we have seen the brand do over the years.
The brownies are massive, thick, and also very moist. This is one of my favorite mix-ins the brand makes. The quality of the brownies is top-tier since they do come from Greyston Bakery. The only downfall here is the pretzel swirl, and the size of it. The consistency of your swirl will vary from person to person just like you can experience in Glampfire Trail mix. The swirl will either come in large pockets, or it will be a minor sliver throughout the experience. The pretzel feature, which was nearly extinct, gives it an extra kick of saltiness to help improve the overall experience.
The company played it safe as chocolate and peanut butter are a classic combination. Make no mistake this is a good flavor, but with a few minor tweaks, it could raise the bar to be an all-time great. Many others including myself found the swirl to be a little too sporadic along with the brownies.
