Handel’s Chocolate Chip Cookie dough is a vanilla base with chunks of cookie dough. While this is a simple flavor on paper it is one of their best sellers. This has been a staple on their menu since they have opened and it is my brothers all time favorite flavor.
The Vanilla base is very similar to Graeter’s as it provides a lingering luscious aftertaste. The extra hint of sugar on top of a vanilla bean flavor really sets off the ice cream for a welcoming first spoonful. Since vanilla ice cream is very saturated on the market you have to put a twist on it to make it stand out. The density and richness of the ice cream make way for a worthwhile experience especially when you strike gold on the cookie dough mix-ins.
As i dug down into the pint it was evident these cookie dough chunks were very consistent. Handel’s uses fresh cookie dough made in house and churned into their ice cream. The quality of the cookie dough stays very fresh, and has a very soft texture that melts in your mouth. The inclusion of mini chocolate chips gives the perfect added compliment to round off a superior cookie dough mix-in.
As a kid I grew up always eating the dough before baking cookies. This was a flashback to my childhood days, but turning cookie dough into a remarkable dessert. If you are a fan of cookie dough this is easily the best on the market.
