Oh, there's no comparison. Peanut Butter World is much better! They both have a saltier peanut butter swirl (which I like), but HG doesn't have the cookie swirl, I think B&J's has a better chocolate ice cream. As between H-D's CPB and B&Js PBW, yeah -- no comparison. PBW clearly wins out.
As for a pure, unadulterated chocolate ice cream, however (irrespective of any chocolate bases that serve as a vehicle for any brand's chocolate-based ice creams) -- Haagen-Dazs Chocolate is superior to any Chocolate that I've tasted from anybody else.
If you can, try Jeni's.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree here. Jenis' Chocolate (milk and dark) is by far the best I've ever had.

Polished off a pint of Peanut Butter Pie yesterday. It is definitely deserving of its universal acclaim. Easy A from me.

Banana split. It has the perfect balance of all the right elements, and Haagen Dazs somehow nailed the whipped cream flavor. It's no contest between their version and Ben & Jerry's.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree here. Jenis' Chocolate (milk and dark) is by far the best I've ever had. I'd stand behind this. I haven't had the Milkiest Chocolate in the World, but her Dark Chocolate was fantastic for an all-chocolate, non mix-in ice cream. Polished off a pint of Peanut Butter Pie yesterday. It is definitely deserving of its universal acclaim. Easy A from me. Agreed...an easy A. Banana split. It has the perfect balance of all the right elements, and Haagen Dazs somehow nailed the whipped cream flavor. It's no contest between their version and Ben & Jerry's. I tried Ben & Jerry's Banana Split about a month ago and was disappointed, but now maybe I'm thinking I should try out the HD version. Rocky Road and Bananas Foster I've heard a few recommendations for their Rocky Road. Unfortunately I don't have a 7-Eleven anywhere near where I live to check out Bananas Foster. I really need to try this. There is a new Walgreens petty close to me, maybe i'll pick it up Saturday or Sunday You most certainly need to check out Pralines & Cream. It's currently my second favorite HD flavor behind Peanut Butter Pie.

I once misremembered which banana split tasted so insanely good and bought the Ben & Jerry's. It was totally disappointing. Try the HD next time you see it in stores. I hope you like it as much as I do.

I just checked out Haagen Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter a few nights ago. Pretty good stuff...very close to an A, but gave it a B. No where near Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter World, just as you guys said.

Polished off a pint of Peanut Butter Pie yesterday. It is definitely deserving of its universal acclaim. Easy A from me. I was excited to find this in stores the other day. It was good, but I'd give it a B, even a B-. It had all the right elements, but I found it to be somewhat bland. For that many calories (330 per serving, I believe), it should be way more full-flavored. The cookie pieces complemented the ice cream, but even with a big bite of them, I wasn't tasting much chocolate at all. Is this just me?

The chocolate pieces added nothing to the ice cream.

Oh and yes banana foster easy A but I love banana based ice creams. After seeing the noic banana foster review I don't know if you'd think the same though. That pint looked ridiculous.

Vanilla Swiss Almond. A in my book! Smooth Madagascar vanilla with dark chocolate covered almonds. Its the first ice cream I remember eating when I was a kid at Thrifty. I know you are not a big fan of nuts, but these dark chocolate covered almonds are great. Before you know it, the spoon hits the bottom of the pint. Its so simple yet so good! Try it out!

I need to check out the Green Tea. I've never had the chance to try any, but I've only seen HD's version on shelves a few times.

Just had their Rum Raisin. Oh my dear God...so very very good, especially if you like the flavor of rum.
