Up to this point, I've purchased 7 different flavors from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. Each one costing $10.99. That's over $80 for 7 pints after tax. Every single flavor I've had has ranked in the A-B range, but I'm still not convinced I couldn't have gotten the same satisfaction at a cheaper price from another brand. Some of my favorites include: Brambleberry Crisp, Hummingbird Cake and Brown Butter Almond Brittle (pictured below). So the question is...is it worth the high retail price?

At least once, to experience them, yes.

Hands down, you have not had their chocolate or salted caramel?

I'm talking more along the lines of on a regular basis. The only pint I've bought was a bad pint /: I got it at the scoop shop though and it was great Bad luck. I'd be upset if I paid $11 for a bum pint. And I'm extremely jealous you live close enough to visit one of their scoop shops. I can't wait for the Jeni's Atlanta location to open up. That will require a road trip for certain.

I certainly would give it a go, but then again the pints of BnJ are $11.95 here so expensive pints of premium ice cream are the norm.

When I'm in the US I'll be buying at least a pint to have tried it.

Brown butter almond brittle was incredible, and probably cracks my top 5. That said, I can't justify the price tag when other brands offer equally incredible options at a third of the price or less (think copper kettle caramel).
I'm glad I ponied up for shipping and tried the brand, but it's probably not something I will do again any time soon.

I doubt I would have explored nearly the entire lineup if this had been the case in the US. When I'm in the US I'll be buying at least a pint to have tried it. Smart. It's worth it at least once. Brown butter almond brittle was incredible, and probably cracks my top 5. Copper Kettle Caramel is an excellent example of flavors that bring more enjoyment for a much cheaper price.

Hah, actually the scoop shop I went to is 646 miles from my house (: It was only like 50 miles out of my way on my 3700 mile road trip so I decided it was worth it. My bad pint was actually of Brown butter almond brittle. I had it in the scoop shop and it was great but it makes me afraid to buy more jenis.

I'd certainly find a way to work a Jeni's scoop shop into my adventure too.

My god the Queen City Cayenne was so freakign incredible. I had one serving of it, but I was probably more impressed with what it brought to he table than any other icecream I've ever eaten. I think its fantastic in small serving sizes, but I would never actually eat an entire pint of it in one sitting. Thanks for the recommendation on this one btw bob, had it in columbus

Thanks for the recommendation on this one btw bob, had it in columbus I think this lies the issue with the ice creams featuring chilies. You would never want to crush a whole pint in one sitting. Best if enjoyed only a few bites at a time.
