How far from OH are you? If it's just a couple of states I don't think they charge a terrible price for shipping. Pretty far. Seattle. Though I have family in Maryland. I'm pondering a visit and an ice cream road trip.

I've seen people mention it online in other states: Pa, Va, Md, Ks, Ky, IL (even a Jeni's opening in Chicago?) and some I forgot. Though sometimes, from people searching outside Ohio, I'll read comments saying "it's at my Whole Foods!"' But they don't give their location.
My bro saw it at Fresh Market in Md and it's also at the Cube Market in Los Angeles.
I know I'm very lucky to have any access, I just wish they had more flavors.

I just found a bunch of pints from a place called "Ruby Jewel". They're from Portland and just starting to be distributed by Whole Foods. They will be our store's first step into the high-end market ($7+) as they don't carry Steve's or Jenny's. ? I really have to have a talk with their ice cream buyer. ? I'll try to snag some pics next time I'm there. I didn't take notes for a review, but after going through several pleasant but mild mid-line local pints (Lopez Island and Whidbey Island Creameries), I was impressed with their intense flavors. I'm definitely going back for more.

I hit Metropolitan Market today and found a little surprise. Here's a quickie cellphone pic:
I also found Black Cherry too, which I never see.

On a different note, I was at Fresh Market to scope out Jeni's Splendid and Steve's ice creams which I had never seen before. They had half gallons of Talenti! I didn't know they existed. Only two flavors though - Tahitian Vanilla and Salted Caramel. They were like $11 each and were in the same clear plastic container with a brown lid only a larger version. I have also seen quarts of Belgian Chocolate (Whole Foods) and Caramel Cookie Crunch (Metropolitan Market). Lowest price so far has been $9.99.

Anyone dying to get their hands on these? I don't even like beer, and I am intrigued, especially by the Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sout and Bretta Fermented Pears and Fudge.. I do like beer and these flavors are seriously tempting. $&@}# Salt & Straw. Probably one of the best reasons why Portland is listed as one of "America's Best Cities For Ice Cream" (and not Seattle ). I wonder what shipping costs. I'd rather blow the dough on a train ticket. It would allow me to sample other delights (and Voodoo Donuts). It's been percolating on the back burner for a while. i have to console myself with the fact that Whole Foods has started carrying Ruby Jewel (also from Oregon). But I'd much rather they get some Salt & Straw.

I love gelato... I love the texture and the intense flavors, but lately I've been happy with Talenti at home. There are several gelatarias here, but the next 2 places I must hit are ice cream... Top Pot Doughnut's ice cream with doughnut pieces and Cupcake Royale's cupcake ice cream. I love any kind of cake as a mix-in so I'm really looking forward to his. Both of those flavors sound incredible. I'm a sucker for cake or doughnuts in ice cream. My choices would be easier if it was only two flavors. Top Pot Doughnuts has: Apple Fritter, Salted Caramel, Espresso Chip, Strawberry, Danish Vanilla Bean, Double Trouble Chocolate, Maple Bar and Valley Girl Lemon Sorbet. I think I'll try the first two. They use a Snoqualmie Ice Cream base, as do several in town. Reportedly made from scratch, Cupcake Royale has a long list of flavors. I'd probably be thread jacking to list them all here. I think I'm going for the Salted Caramel and Red Velvet from their "Cupcakes & Cream" range. Their "Bakeshop Inspired" range still has me scratching my head, but I think I have to start with "Whiskey Maple Bacon Crack". None of the gelato places downtown are that adventurous flavor-wise (unfortunately).

I really want to find Argentine Caramel and Simply Strawberry (especially the former). They are my Talenti Unicorns. I've found only 2 of the 4 new flavors so far. Luckily they were the lovely Alphonso Mango and the gooey, rich, luscious Southern Butter Pecan (which has been available here for quite a while - thankfully). There is a very regional component here. Even within a particular brand and distributor. QFC is cheaper, but the best selection is at Whole Foods (only a 7 minute walk away). I need to ask them why they don't carry the other 2 new flavors, (plus Black Cherry and Coffee Chocolate Chip) and see if they can remedy the situation. I'm also surprised they don't carry brands like Steve's, Jeni's, etc. It's not like they're in the sticks somewhere. Just a block away construction has begun on Amazon's spiffy new 3 block campus with three 37 story towers and a 3 sphere biodome. I can see the first new crane from my window. There is also a new twin-towered 41 story luxury condo building going up just a block from me that's up to the 5th story now. I think the ground floor retail level is ripe for a new ice creamery ...though rumors abound about the possibility of a new QFC or Trader Joe's going in. Now a QFC a block away with $2.79 sales would be mighty fine indeed.

Living on east coast = Losing. And I'm sitting here drooling over the east coast stuff we don't have. New Orleans? nooooo, none, zip, nada... That, alone is enough, really. But you can also add: 2nd street Creamery SoCo High Road Front Porch Phin & Phebe's Gifford's Salt and Straw is in Oregon but never makes it up here. Very little Blue Bell The nearby QFC has a small selection of Graeter's... But no Elena's Blueberry Pie (yet) Metropolitan Market carries some Jeni's (I've yet to make plunge) and some Steve's. The grass is always greener on the other coast. ? But it gives me a good reason to look forward to visiting family out that way.

(Just in case anyone missed this)
Talenti pints, B&J'S, Tillamook and more...
Advantage card discount + 5 for 5 sale = $2.79 /pint (or 1.75 qt for Tillamook)
Sale runs from Jul 31 - Aug 6.
For my fellow Seattle area Talenti-holics: Lower Queen Anne had the usual basic flavors plus Sea Salt Caramel, Southern Butter Pecan, Caramel Cookie Crunch, Black Raspberry, Pistachio, Mint and Coconut - a much better selection than Safeway but not quite as good as Whole Food$.
I'm still trying to find Argentine Caramel, Simply Strawberry and German Chocolate Cake. Metropolitan Market had Black Cherry once but has been out since. They make up for it by carrying Steve's and Jeni's.
