How does this compare to the B&J peanut butter core flavor you just reviewed?

Hey Steve! Just wanted to let you know that I have spotted BB's Fudge Divinity at my local Winn Dixie. Keep your eyes peeled for more holiday flavors. Oh, I am excited! I want to get my hands on Christmas Cookies again this year and FINALLY sink my teeth into their Gingerbread flavor. Happy hunting! Hey Jen, thanks for the tip! I will keep my eyes peeled for Fudge Divinity. And FYI, I found a tub of "Spiced Pumpkin Pecan" at my local Target today - see the pic I posted in the "Freezer Finds" forum. Isn't it great that Blue Bell is getting these awesome holiday flavors out early?

Passing by my local (Baton Rouge) Target today I noticed a fresh new shipment of Spiced Pumpkin Pecan ice cream so i snapped a picture! That gap there in the upper right is because I grabbed a tub for myself. Spiced Pumpkin Pecan is one of Blue Bell's Holiday favorites. I have reviewed this flavor as a solid "A"! It is LOADED with spicy pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and pecan flavor! A fantastic treat and typically only available from around Halloween to Thanksgiving, so get it while it lasts!

Alisa, Magic Cookie Bar is a BOMB flavor! It is really good, just loaded with all the tasty mix-ins in the description, and the condensed-milk flavored base is a pretty unique taste as well. By all means, try this flavor for breakfast.

Not a fan of this at all. It completely lacks the texture of an ice cream. When attempting to scoop it out of the tub, big chunks break off and try to fly out of the tub. In a bowl with a spoon it continues to just break off in bits and pieces. I had to check the ingredient list because I really was thinking this wasn't a nice cream. I would suggest letting this ice cream melt a bit, and I think the flakiness would be eliminated. I let mine melt and my god, does it taste good!

When the Ice Cream Informant posted notice that Blue Bell was releasing a new flavor for September, called Malt Shoppe, I knew I was going to be all over it. Blue Bell describes Malt Shoppe as a tasty chocolate malt ice cream loaded with milk chocolate-covered malted milk balls. Pretty simple, but as a life-long fan of both malt balls and chocolate malt milk shakes, I was excited when I came across a tub of this concoction a few days before the official September release date. Dipping my spoon into the tub, I quickly realized that one important aspect of this ice cream was going to be positive: It is indeed loaded with malt balls! From the moment the spoon cracks the surface, it will likely collide with one of these malt balls, which litter the ice cream top to bottom. Better still, these are real chocolate-coated malt balls, not flakes or pieces of them. Fully-formed and round, these treats abound, and they taste excellent, just as if someone were to pour a box of malt balls into a tub of ice cream. The balls are not as large as movie theater candy malt balls, but that is no loss, as they are plenty big enough to pack both a rich malted center and a nice coating of chocolate. Equally impressive is the chocolate-malt ice cream. Blue Bell wisely uses a milk chocolate foundation and combines this with a rich malted flavor. When you eat a spoonful that has no malt balls (and these are few and far between!), it does taste like an old-fashioned chocolate milk shake. This chocolate malt base has nice synergy with the mix-in malt balls, creating a pleasurable sensation on the taste buds. One thing I found out about malt shoppe is that it melts pretty quickly! So if you don't want to end up drinking it with a straw, do not let it sit out for very long. With that caveat, it is clear that Blue Bell has come up with a winning flavor, and at a relatively low 170 calories per serving. If you like malt chocolate and malt balls, then you should hasten to try this as soon as possible. Grade: A Where found: Walmart

When the Ice Cream Informant notified us about the existence of this new flavor Blue Bell is releasing for July, well, the description alone made me wish that I could leap a weak ahead in time and get some! Blue Bell describes Magic Cookie Bar as a sweet ice cream loaded with graham cracker crust pieces, chunks of dark chocolate, roasted pecan pieces and toasted coconut all surrounded by a caramel sauce swirl. I mean, what's not to like about any part of that? This flavor seemed to have an "A" grade written all over it, so when I noticed a tub sitting in my local Walmart freezer a couple days before July I was all over it. Cracking open the lid and scooping into this flavor, I quickly realize that Blue Bell has a big winner on its hands. Magic Cookie Bar is a very rich, tasty ice cream. At 220 calories per serving, it equals their chocolate peanut butter flavor as their highest calorie offerings, and you taste all of that in your mouth. The base ice cream appears to be Blue Bell's excellent homemade vanilla, and this provides a creamy foundation for the maelstrom of mix-ins that stuff this ice cream. The caramel sauce is a thick sauce, and when combined with the shaved coconut and roasted pecan pieces, it creates an almost honey-like taste in the mouth. The dark chocolate pieces are indeed chunks, big ragged rectangles of tasty chocolate and this ice cream is chock-full of them. Best of all are the graham cracker crust pieces. Blue Bell doesn't always do a good job with pie crusts, but these graham cracker pieces are big square-shaped chunks, thick and moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside, and like the chocolate chunks these are plentifully provided. Every scoop I had was stuffed with all of the mix-ins, and their combination and quantity was so rich I was unable to eat the whole tub in a single sitting, which i always do. Of course I did finish the tub off later! Overall, Magic Cookie Bar is pretty fantastic. I never have had the family cookie treat that it is based on so i can't comment on how faithfully it reproduces it. But on its own terms, this is a very tasty ice cream, a welcome addition to Blue Bell's summer rotation. Dig in and enjoy! Grade: A Where found: Walmart

Blue Bell has some good offerings this month, including a new flavor, "Magic Cookie Bar" that looks quite scrumptious: **Magic Cookie Bar - Brown Rim A sweet ice cream loaded with graham cracker crust pieces, chunks of dark chocolate, roasted pecan pieces and toasted coconut all surrounded by a caramel sauce swirl. Beyond that, we also get the underrated "Lemon Bliss" flavor, and we still have Mocha Madness as well. www.bluebell.com/what_were_crankin_out/our_ice_cream_hidden.html

I love this flavor! When I reviewed it last year I gave it a "B", but I'd revise it to an "A" now. I've come to love the cake batter base and it is just STUFFED with cookie dough pieces!

Liz, I wish I could answer you! I agree that this flavor ROCKED. It was insidious how that peanut butter built up in your mouth. Awesome!
We can only hope they bring it back one day.
