Ample Hills I Contain Breakfast Foods
Ample Hills I Contain Breakfast Foods is labeled as "sweet cream ice cream with a touch of cinnamon, pieces of chocolate donuts and coffee cake crumble. The shop-specific flavor for Ample Hills at Brooklyn Bridge Park is I Contain Breakfast Foods! This flavor is a tribute to famous American author Walt Whitman, who was inspired by the ferry boats coming and going from Brooklyn Bridge Park's Fulton Ferry Landing to write Crossing Brooklyn Ferry. This flavor was thoughtfully made with the help of the New York Public Library
The sweet cream base was similar to PB Wins the Cup & Sweet as Honey. The amount of sweetness and cream blend together very well with a high butterfat content to enhance the flavor. It's not a true oreo cream center like you would picture a sweet cream to be, but think about bold vanilla with a creamy enhancement. While Ample Hill's vanilla is a top tier flavor off their line this one is a step above.
Even though Ample Hills says they put a touch of cinnamon it is not an aspect that takes the backseat. In each and every bite you get a heaping amount of cinnamon that blisters your taste buds. The donut chunks contain a subtle cocoa flavor but are a tad dry. I wish I could tell you how the coffee cake crumble was, but I never found any in my pint. With a few small pieces of donut in the entire pint, it is hard to give a fair judgement on the mix-ins.
Ample Hills has quality control issues in this pint, with the lacking aspects being the mix-ins and the flavor they brought to the pint. Overall this was a cinnamon sweet cream base with a small few chunks of donuts that did not appeal to me. I personally would suggest skipping this flavor even if it is a limited edition addition. There are far better options on their original lineup I would suggest over scooping this.
