Ample Hills The Force
Ample Hills The Force is labeled as "Sweet cream ice cream, swirled with rich chocolate fudge, and set against a galaxy of white and dark chocolate pearls."
The sweet cream ice cream from Ample Hills tastes close their vanilla base as featured in a lot of their premium flavors. The major difference from the vanilla base is the richness of the sweet milk and sugar used to give you an oreo like cream filling flavor. The base is like eating a mixture of an oreo filling and a buttercream frosting found on a cupcake. The amount of luscious flavor packed in this base was surreal.
Ample Hills is not known to include swirls in their ice cream as they bank on top tier mix-ins, but the rich chocolate fudge was spectacular. The fudge was rich and packed a bold taste to go hand in hand with the sweet base ice cream. The amount of flavor almost overpowers the base ice cream due to how thick the swirl was. The size and consistency almost reminded me of Turkey Hill as they are known for massive swirls. The white & chocolate pearls were very hit or miss like my experience with the Dark Side and It Came From Gowanus. They make a small appearance, but not enough to truly get a lot of recognition. If anything they add a crunchy element to the base ice cream and swirl.
The swirl and base alone make this flavor awesome. If you admire a great ice cream and large swirls you will truly love this flavor. I am a big Salt & Straw fan because of how well they do swirls, but this right here gives me hope we will see more in the future from Ample Hills. This is a great flavor, but I could do without the pearls for a different mix-in to make this even a better flavor.
