Little G's Ice Cream Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel
Little G's Ice Cream Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel is labeled as "Vanilla Bean ice cream with chocolate covered pretzels & a peanut butter swirl". Being that I love chocoate covered pretzels and peanut butter I have a feeling this will strike gold. I have read lots of good things, but pecan pie having the edge as the best flavor off the fall flavors. Time will soon tell.
First of all the vanilla bean ice cream is exactly what you would think. Ever drink a vanilla bean coffee creamer? Yeah that is exactly what Little G's brings to the table. The base is not super sweet or luscious like a Graeter's ice cream, but has a dense vanilla flavor. For those who like a strong vanilla and not sweet this is right up your alley. Besides breaching the surface and getting ice cream you are then loaded with nothing but mix-ins. I would put it up there as a good base, not great. Due to the amount of pretzels and peanut butter swirl included in the pint it takes away from tasting the base and the overall experience of the vanilla bean flavor.
The chocolate covered pretzels were perfect. The sweet milk chocolate coating and the salty pretzel are a knockout one two punch. Not only is there pretzels in every single spoonful, it was hard to break my way through this pint because of how dense it was. Just when I thought the pretzels were marvelous the peanut butter swirl was the largest swirl I ever got in a Little G pint. This reminded me of Haagen Dazs Peanut Butter Pie. Grace should of labeled Peanut Butter swirls to peanut butter chunks. It reminded me of scooping pecan pie chunks in the pecan pie flavor. The peanut butter is creamy and gives a slight salty aftertaste to compliment the pretzels.
Easily the best flavor to date off Little G's. Lots of peanut butter, tons of chocolate covered pretzels, and so many mix-ins you barley can tell there is ice cream in the pint. While the vanilla base from Little G's is not the best on the market the two other aspects take this flavor to the top. With globs of peanut butter swirled from top to bottom and the consistent pretzels I was in awe. I really hope this flavor comes back or is considered a permanent on the original lineup. Everyone should experience this.
