Did you excitedly bring home a new flavor of ice cream, unable to wait a single second to dig your spoon into the pint, only to have your hopes immediately crushed by a failure to live up to expectations?
Share your tales of ice cream woe here.
If you're rendered speechless by a flavorless base and disgusting mix-ins, you can list the brand and flavor alone and leave the sad details unsaid. But also feel free to unleash your full-length saga of frozen heartbreak.

The idea for this thread came to me for a reason: Talenti double dark chocolate. Usually gelato has a richer chocolate flavor than ice cream, but not this one.
Had I read the reviews of the other chocolate chip flavors (coffee, black raspberry, stracciatella) first, I would have known not to set my expectations so high. Too little, too late.

Great idea for a thread right here!
Granted I haven't had any bad ice cream recently, I was a bit let down by Blue Bell Rockslide Brownie. I was hoping this one would be a home run and even though I gave it a B, it could have been much much better.
If we're talking of all-time, I'd go with Blue Bunny's 24 Karat Carrot Cake and Red Carpet Red Velvet Cake. Hated both.

Phish food. Ive had this flavor 3 times. First time I loved it, but was new to icecream. 2nd time it was pure ice. 3rd time (after learning about icecream) all I tasted was chocolate.
Will not be scooping again/10

Caramel Hat Trick (Triple Caramel Chunk) from B&J was pretty disappointing. Maybe a bad pint but small mix-ins and not much swirl
Other Canadian stuff: -PC Loads of Chocolate Peanut Butter Description said chocolate and vanilla ice cream, well there was barely any vanilla. PB cups were super small and the PB swirl was dry and not very prevalent.
-M&M Chocolate Rush Description said chocolate brownie chunks, fudge swirl but there was literally none of that, just sub par chocolate ice cream.

Ben & Jerry's What A Cluster.
All the hype on the forum, I thought it was going to blow me away. I hated it, though. The "clusters" completely ruined it for me.

First ever pint of Steves Sunday Morning. Didn't notice the small drips or "leaks" that were in on the side and close to the lid. Instant red flag for a refreeze. I was super excited to try it and soon as I opened it and took a bite...failure. Went back the next day exchanged it for the last Sunday Morning pint scooped it that Sunday evening and it was amazing. Glad I went back.

blue bunny rvc-i love rvc and a few guys raving about it on bb.com, was not good at all. too artificial tasting for me.
blue bell rockslide brownie-it was more rockslide marshmallow. was expecting great things but was only somewhat satisfied.
steve's bklyn blackout-since i love b&j choc therapy & choc fudge brownie, i thought id love bklyn blackout. steve's doesnt even stand a chance with the others.

First one that came to mind was Graeter's Peppermint Stick. I remember trying it last year during the holidays and being so bored with it. Thought I'd enjoy the holidays more with it, I ended up just returning to my jug of Gingerbread House.

B&J's Rocky Road-ish. I probably would have liked it if the base had been chocolate, not marshmallow, ice cream. Also, my last pint of Half Baked was a bad one, it had dry and tasteless brownies and cookie dough pieces.

Also, my last pint of Half Baked was a bad one, it had dry and tasteless brownies and cookie dough pieces. The same thing happened to me a few months ago! I thought my memory had failed me since it had been probably four or five years since I'd had Half Baked. Maybe B&J changed the recipe?

Ah, I should've done that! My last container of HD Salted Caramel Truffle did not contain any caramel. I DID complain about that, and they sent me a coupon for a free pint...which was the least they could do!

It seems like most companies are quick to send out free pint coupons if you take the time to complain about receiving a bum pint.

Well I have the worst news ever. Yesterday I bought a pint of Talenti Sea Salt Caramel, and there were only 15 or so chocolate truffles in the whole thing! In past pints I've had, there was almost one in every bite. I just wrote the company about it.

From what I've gathered based on other peoples experiences writing in with complaints, they usually always help out their customers in the form of a free pint, coupons, etc.

Already got an e-mail asking me for my mailing address for a free pint coupon. That makes the experience a little better.
